TECHNICAL BUYER (Graduate)

 Salary: £20,000

As a Technical Buyer you will be responsible for providing core technical sourcing and materials control support to both the Strategic Sourcing and Materials Managers and will need to have an excellent knowledge of engineering to carry out this role to the level required.

 You will be responsible for:

•  

  ·        sourcing products and services for both internal and external customers, liaising with existing and new suppliers as the role demands

  ·        administering the company ‘conveyor belt’ on behalf of Materials Control

  ·        providing timely support to Materials Control in terms of resolving technical issues generated by suppliers

  ·        identifying potential new products from existing suppliers that fall within the Abbeychart range and advising the Sales Department of these potential new products

We anticipate that the successful candidate will be a graduate engineer who wants to branch out into a purchasing / sourcing role whilst using their engineering skills to understand the customer needs and source the product required, within certain financial restraints, to meet this need.  Their technical knowledge will also allow them to quickly attain and develop their in-depth knowledge of our ever evolving product range. 

 To be considered for the role of Technical Buyer you will need to be tenacious, results driven, have an advanced knowledge of Excel combined with excellent communication skills and be extremely well organised.  The ability to speak either Italian and/or Mandarin would be an advantage, but is not essential.  In addition you will need a full driving licence and your own transport.
