Why your fittings need John Guest Pipe Inserts

At Abbeychart, we have a team of in-house experts ready to advise you on our broad range of John Guest products. Supporting a wide range of installations across the Water, Vending, Coffee, Beer Dispense and Soft Drinks industries, we aim to provide the best possible recommendations to save your space, time and money. A vital part of a safe, secure installation is protecting the fittings and tubing included - in order to do so, we must highlight the importance of John Guest Pipe Inserts.

What are pipe inserts?
Simple yet effective, pipe inserts are small plastic tubes designed to slot into pipework, creating a rigid connection in drinks dispense applications. Pipe inserts work by ensuring the ends of the pipe are kept nice and round, minimising the loss of shape that can occur when cutting. Maintaining the structural integrity of the pipework facilitates a more effective seal between the outside diameter of the pipe and the O-ring, making the pipe more rigid when a side load is applied.

What happens if I don't use pipe inserts?
Although John Guest fittings are pioneered for ease of installation, cutting pipe to the required length leaves the security of your pipe prone to errors. A loose seal can cause leaks and damage to your fittings and pipe - damaging your installation and burdening you with the time and cost of replacement.

Who needs pipe inserts?
Although some applications rely on pipe inserts more than others (such as plumbing applications) Abbeychart recommend them for all plumbing and heating applications, as well as cold water applications where using a large bore tube.

What pipe inserts do Abbeychart offer?
Alongside our range of traditional pipe inserts, we also provide superseal pipe inserts - featuring two O-ring seals in comparison to plain inserts. One of these is located on the stem, which is pushed into the pipe to prevent water from inside the pipe passing between the inside of the pipe wall and the outside surface of the insert.
The other O-ring sits on the end of the insert and seals inside the fitting, in effect becoming the primary seal between the pipe and the fitting.

Abbeychart offer a range if pipe inserts to cover all bases in drinks dispense, with parts suitable for both hot and cold water applications. You can view our range of products here - or use the button below to get in touch and discuss your requirements further.
